NATALIE GILLIS

Scale of Ice

Natalie Gillis divides her year by chasing the summer light between the Arctic and Antarctic regions; a lover of high altitude and high latitude wilderness areas, her academic interests are focused on the dynamic relationship that exists between humans and the natural world, a dominant theme that shapes her photographic pursuits. As a professional wilderness guide, Natalie has logged over 1000 days in the field since 2009; she perpetually finds herself longing for the sense of freedom found in exploring new corners of the natural world. She is also a commercial floatplane pilot and enjoys reading and writing poetry.
