Artist Statement

"Downtown Backyard” is an observational painting drawn by Gouache on paper while the artist, Jihye Yang was travelling around Shanghai. The painting is focused on creating a harmonious landscape while exploring interesting layers of textures created by spontaneous juxtaposition.

Jihye Yang is a junior student attending Seoul Scholars International in Seoul, South Korea. She is interested in art for communicating with people and developing her techniques in various art forms. She loves drawing and painting but recently starts to expand her interests of art to explore new mediums in a 3-Dimensional format. She desires to pursue her study in fine art in the future.
