Split Rock Review is a not-for-profit publication run by volunteers that love literature, art, and the wilderness.
Originally founded in 2012 in Duluth, MN, we are now based on the South Shore of Lake Superior in northwestern WI. Our name is inspired by the iconic landmark, Split Rock Lighthouse, and the adjacent state park in MN.
Our mission is to publish the finest literature and art that explore place, environment, and the relationship between humans and nature.
Journal issues are published biannually in the spring and fall. We also nominate contributors’ work for most major awards and anthologies.
As an extension of Split Rock Review, we established Split Rock Press in 2019. Split Rock Press hosts an annual poetry chapbook series and publishes eco-friendly books.
To those who heed the call of the woods, kick off your boots and settle in.
